What is Mantrailing?

Think of Mantrailing as 'hide and seek' for dogs, or a leisure activity inspired by canine 'Search and Rescue'. It's rapidly gaining popularity and is a great way to work with your dog and have fun.

First, a 'runner' is hidden or a dog is 'lost'. Then the dog and handler team work together to find them using the dog's nose and handler's skills to their full.

I'm Laurence and I'm affiliated with The Canine School of Trailing. Come and join me in Cheshire and South Manchester for doggy bonding fun!

Linda, Handforth Trailing

"Great session! Well organised with each trail tailored to the experience of handler/dog. Will definitely be booking on again 😀"

Marion, Macclesfield Trailing

"This was a first time dog trailing. Both dog and owner enjoyed it and definitely would do it again. Laurence organised the session well and gave us very clear instructions."

Gill, Sandbach Trailing

"Had our third session last night. We had a fabulous time. Laurence adapted and increased the difficulty of the trails to challenge her. Trailing has helped her gain more confidence and cope with busy environments."

For the love of dog... let them sniff!

Dog's have amazing noses

Dogs are macrosmatics — they have a very strong sense of smell. Trailing taps into this.

Sniffing uses about ten times as much air as normal breathing — this, and the amount of brain power used when processing the smells explains why trailing is so tiring for dogs.

We've seen huskies worn out through trailing when they can't be tired other ways!

Why not give it a try?
